"the only colors boys are not allowed to wear are pink and purple."
i just heard this from outside my window from what sounded like 12 year olds.
is this still the norm? what happens if this norm is violated? why does gender come packaged with specific color pallets?
discuss.

I just had an overwhelming urge to curse. Playground gendering particularly upsets me.

haha the topic of pink/purple and men is so interesting. So far I've only heard two opinions: 1) Guys can't wear pink because it is feminine, and 2) Only real men wear pink. Why can't it just be normal for guys to wear pink, why does it have to be feminine or manly? I also never hear of colors being limited for women. Why aren't any "off-limits" for us? This raises the question of whether their are more societal pressures on men than women concerning gender and its representation. I think men are pressured more than women to show or validate their gender
